Natural stone

Onyx.

Translucent stone with a luminous play of colour.

Onyx forms from calcium carbonate deposited in layers in caves and at springs. These layered deposits give the stone its characteristic bands and its ability to transmit light.

When backlit, onyx almost glows, which is why it is often used as a statement in bars, reception areas and bathrooms. The stone is soft and sensitive and is best suited to areas not exposed to heavy wear.
